Job Summary

Teach students to design, build, and play a Native American Flute.
Use assessments to determine if student learning outcomes have been met.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Demonstrate and instruct students in proper hand tool and machine safety.
Instruct students on the history of the flute.
Teach music theory as it relates to the Native American Flute.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or higher preferred.
Four years paid woodworking experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Knowledge and experience in a paid woodworking environment.
Ability to create homework assignments and administer appropriate assessments.
Two years teaching experience in a woodworking environment.
Good communication skills.
Need excellent safety attitude and practices.
Maintain tool inventory.
Keep shop clean and organized.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Musical knowledge and ability as it pertains to the Native American Flute.
Working knowledge of woodworking hand and power tools.
