Job Summary

Teaches one to three sections of lower-division Mass COMM classes. Reports pedagogical problems and classroom management to the COMM department coordinator. Student complaints and teacher absences should be reported to the Division Office.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Follows the course curriculum outline, prepares & delivers lectures and other classroom activities.

2. Prepares and administers student evaluations.

3. Keeps accurate classroom records.

4. Coordinates Student ADA accommodation requests following college policy and procedures.

5. Answer student questions and provide necessary feedback on student progress.

6. Follows SLCC policies and procedures.

7. Keeps minimal office hours.

8. Completes all required training.

9. Supports department assessment initiatives.

10. Participate and collaborate with SLCC Mass Communication Center (MCC) Director to produce and contribute student-produced media.

11. Meets College and department deadlines and evaluates student work in a timely manner including submitting final grades on time.

12. Demonstrate and supports professional commitment to division, school, and college mission and values.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued

Teach COMM 2525 – Web Site Promotion

Instruct students to:
-Develop a website promotion campaign which includes search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, linking campaigns, email marketing, online publicity, and affiliate strategies to develop a business web strategy.

-Define the major components of website promotion campaign and explain why they are important to organizations.

-Illustrate how organizations successfully utilize the major website promotion components such as search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click advertising (PPC), linking campaigns, email marketing, blogs, online publicity, and affiliate strategies.

-Demonstrate the successful creation of a sustainable website promotion campaign for an organization.

-Implement the website promotion campaign for an organization.

Preferred Qualifications

A master’s degree in Mass COMM or a closely related field, and experience teaching Mass COMM classes at a college level. Current industry experience in image editing, working with digital products and services; and creating and implementing design projects.

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Mass COMM and some college level teaching experience. Significant, current industry experience in web design, search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising, linking campaigns, email marketing, online publicity, and affiliate strategies to develop a business web strategies is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Illustrate knowledge of how organizations successfully utilize the major website promotion components such as search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click advertising (PPC), linking campaigns, email marketing, blogs, online publicity, and affiliate strategies.
