Job Summary

Under general supervision, instructs various Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician related classes and skills to community college students. May be assigned to any SLCC location.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Effectively prepare and teach classes to facilitate student learning.
2. Develop, distribute, and adhere to current course outlines and/or syllabi.
3. Demonstrate a depth of understanding in the field of Emergency Medical Services at the Emergency Medical Technician level.
4. Attend required training and department meetings, as invited.
5. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to division, School, and College mission and values.
6. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration.
7. Support College policies.
8. Other job related duties as required.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications

Certified Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Services Instructor at a minimum of the Emergency Medical Technician level.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic, currently certified by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
2. Two (2) years non-teaching full-time (or full-time equivalent) work experience in Emergency Medical Services as a certified Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic level.
3. Knowledge and experience in Emergency Medical Services.
4 Currently certified as an EMS Instructor by the Utah Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
