Job Summary

Provide assistance to Adjunct Faculty in the Plumbing Lab

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. The lab instructor is to coordinate with the adjunct faculty member intents and needs for upcoming lab nights.

2. Prior to scheduled labs, the lab instructor is to prepare the lab room, to include room cleanliness and setup, and necessary equipment and materials to be used.

3. The lab instructor is to provide assistance to the adjunct faculty member with any of the training and teaching that is ongoing during the lab.

4. After scheduled labs, the lab instructor will assist the adjunct faculty member in directing and assisting the students in cleaning the lab room and returning all equipment and material to their proper areas.

5. The lab instructor will coordinate with the Apprenticeship office any needs for material and/or additional equipment that may be needed to stock the lab room.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued

1. Effectively prepare and teach classes to facilitate student learning.

2. Assess and maintain records of student performance.

3. Develop, distribute to students and adhere to course outlines and/or syllabi.

4. Attend meetings and completes all required trainings.

5. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to Division School and College mission and values.

6. Maintain a supportive attitude toward work, students, colleagues and administration, and with people of diverse backgrounds.

7. Coordinates Student ADA accommodation requests following college policy and procedures.

8. Meets College and department deadlines and evaluates student work in a timely manner including submitting final grades on time.

9. Follows SLCC policies and procedures.

10. Accept other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Qualified applicants will possess a valid Utah State Journeyman Plumber License and at least 6 years of experience in the plumbing industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, culture, ethnic background, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College. The ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

As directed by SLCC Policy, Adjunct positions are semester by semester contract with no guarantee of continued employment.
