Job Summary

Instructional delivery, management of learning environment and assessment of student learning for the Physics Lab(s) assigned by the Department Chair or the Lab Coordinator.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

-Using pre-established curricula, teach labs.
-Create and adhere to a departmentally approved syllabus.
-Assess student learning as prescribed by the department.
-Follow all SLCC policies and procedures.
-Adjunct Lab Instructors will assign student grades for the course.
-Other duties as assigned by Department Chair or Lab Coordinator

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience teaching college-level Physics Labs.

Minimum Qualifications

BS in Physics or a closely related field with an emphasis in the area of Physics related to the lab being taught.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent content knowledge and teaching ability in Physics.

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent computer and software skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.)

Demonstrated skills and record of success in establishing good working relationships with students, staff, & faculty

Must be dependable

Special Instructions

As directed by SLCC Policy, Adjunct positions are semester by semester contract with no guarantee of continued employment.
