Job Summary

Assist the College Store Director in carrying out the functions and goals of the Apparel Department in the College Store. Manage and supervise the day-to-day operation so that satisfactory services are provided to all students, faculty, staff and the community on a sound financial basis.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Responsible for the overall operation of the SLCC College Store Apparel Department. This includes the purchasing, receiving, pricing, displaying, handling of special orders, and the knowledge of apparel to understand the garment kinds and graphics to imprint on each garment. To answer questions and provide quality customer service. Responsible to maintain proper inventory controls, histories and understand open to buy. Responsible to operate the department using a sound financial basis. Minimal Travel required to Regional and National Buying/Trade Shows.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a retail environment.

Minimum Qualifications

High School graduate with two years of business work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Plan, organize, and manage time effectively to direct the operation of the SLCC College Store Apparel Department.
Knowledge of pricing and marketing trends.

Maintain history and inventory controls

Maintain relationship with vendors and SLCC departments.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
