Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintenance of the Nursing Arts Lab, including the high fidelity human simulation models, for students to practice and acquire psychomotor skills used in the nursing profession.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Assists in the Nursing Arts Lab with all activities within the Nursing Arts lab.
2. Serves as a resource person to faculty in the area of skill practice and equipment;
4. Utilization of the arts lab, by maintaining the lab readiness for independent practice of skills, skills demonstration and skills testing; maintaining organization of lab materials by course level.
7. Helps with maintaining the lab and equipment;
maintaining accessibility and proper storage of all lab learning materials; procure, install, configure, operate, maintain and repair medical simulators and computers; assures that needed equipment and materials are available for skills demonstration and testing.
8. Submits requests for purchase of supplies and equipment to the Budget Center Manager for approval, and once received, assembles/installs/stocks these supplies and equipment.
9. Assembles and disassembles equipment for faculty and student use; inventories expendables, instructional supplies and equipment routinely.
10. Other duties as assigned.

High School diploma.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to demonstrate nursing techniques and the ability to maintain good working relationships with staff and faculty.

Must be self-directed.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
