Job Summary

Instructional delivery, management of learning environment and assessment of student learning for the Chemistry Course(s) assigned by the Division Chair or the Coordinator.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

-Using pre-established curricula, teach courses.
-Create and adhere to a departmentally approved syllabus.
-Assess student learning as prescribed by the department.
-Follow all SLCC policies and procedures.
-Adjunct Instructor will assign student grades for the course.
-Other duties as assigned by Department Chair or Coordinator.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience teaching college-level Chemistry Courses and/or college-level Chemistry Labs

Minimum Qualifications

MS in Chemistry or a closely related field with an emphasis in the area of Chemistry related to the course being taught.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent content knowledge and teaching ability in Chemistry

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent computer and software skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.)

Demonstrated skills and record of success in establishing good working relationships with students, staff, & faculty

Must be dependable
