Job Summary

Instructional delivery, management of learning environment and assessment of student learning for the Surveying Course(s) assigned by the Department Chair.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

-Using pre-established curricula, teach courses or labs.

-Create and adhere to a departmentally approved syllabus.

-Assess student learning as prescribed by the department.

-Follow all SLCC policies and procedures.

-Adjunct Instructors will assign student grades for the course.

-Keeps all required training up to date.

-Other duties as assigned by Associate Dean or the Department Coordinator

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience teaching college-level Surveying Courses.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be certified as a public land surveyor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Certified Surveyor with excellent content knowledge and teaching ability in Surveying.

Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent computer and software skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.)

Demonstrated skills and record of success in establishing good working relationships with students, staff, & faculty

Must be dependable.

Special Instructions

A copy of transcripts and a resume is required for application.

Official Transcripts and copy of certifications are required at the time of hire.

As directed by SLCC Policy, Adjunct positions are semester by semester contract with no guarantee of continued employment.

This is a pooled position and the department will review applications when positions become available.
