Job Summary

Under limited supervision the Test Proctor’s responsibilities include: distributing, monitoring, and filing of paper or computerized tests. Test Proctors work and interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students to create a secure, efficient, and courteous testing environment.

Days and hours for this position are limited to finals week (3x/year) and other peak testing times during the semester. There is no set schedule.

Successful candidate cannot be, or have the intention to become, a student at SLCC while holding this position.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Check students in and out using computer systems.
Enforce required policies and procedures firmly and courteously.
Provide accurate and consistent information to all Testing Center users.
Provide excellent customer service to all visitors to the testing center.
Monitor audio/video surveillance to ensure test administration integrity.
Work with and protect confidential information.
Enter data into spreadsheets.
Operate office machines such as copier, fax, etc.
Organize and secure test materials in both paper and electronic formats.
Maintain the cleanliness of testing area.
Assist departmental personnel in other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Applicant must have one year post high school education/training and one year of related, paid work experience. Additional work experience may be substituted for education, or additional education may be substituted for work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Familiarity with general office methods and techniques including filing systems.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
Must be detail-oriented.
Knowledge of College Information System (Banner) helpful.
Knowledge of College policies, procedures and operations helpful.
General knowledge of online education practices and processes helpful.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written (must have ability to read, speak and write English).
Ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of people.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively.
Ability to manage time wisely.
Ability to perform duties with limited supervision.
Must be team-oriented.
Must be able to function in a high stress environment.

Days and hours for this position will generally be limited to finals week (3x/year) and other peak testing times during the semester. Various shifts at multiple campus locations available (Redwood, Jordan, and South City). Multiple positions available.
