Work up to 20 hours per week at the South City Campus. Work-study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work-Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work-study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work-study positions. Salt Lake Community College may complete a criminal background check on the finalist.

Job Summary

Assist in operations of the SCC Student Life and Leadership Office, including supporting student leader’s and managing office needs. Promote Student Life and Leadership with students, faculty and staff. Assist the Administrative Assistant in helping the professional staff and boards in implementing scheduled programs and events.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Assist in operations of the North Region Student Life and Leadership Office. Assist Coordinator and the North Region Vice President and board in implementing scheduled programs. Coordinate responsibilities and scheduling with the Office Manager. Respond courteously and promptly to phone and walk-in inquiries and provide front-desk customer service, perform clerical functions. Assist guests, staff, faculty and students with information and directions. Communicate with other offices and personnel on campus to ensure proper arrangements for scheduled activities and events. Schedule SLL conference room.
Do a regular check of area to ensure that office is properly arranged and maintained and unneeded equipment is properly stored; review and maintain office supplies and materials making sure that are stocked and stored. See that the area is also kept clean and neat. Maintain professional atmosphere in office and help keep it looking professional. Work with facilities, custodial, and student center office to help maintain professional work atmosphere.
Assist with coverage, projects or other needs of Student Life and Leadership. Assist with office forms, keeping copies on hand, updating information and explaining how to complete. Close or open office as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
1. Graduation from high school or equivalent
2. Experience working with front-line customers

Knowledge of general office procedures and methods.
Good word processing skills.
