Job Summary

Under faculty and/or lab instructor supervision, student will assist students with laboratory activities, provide peer-tutoring on lab topics and
assist the instructor in lab preparation, implementation and clean-up, general maintenance/organization of lab space, supplies and equipment.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

In order of priority:
Assist students with laboratory activities.

Provide peer-tutoring on lab topics.

Assist lab instructor with preparation, implementation and clean-up.

Assist lab instructor with in the general maintenance/organization of lab space, supplies and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a College-level general biology course with a C or above.

Completion with a B or above in the lab in which they will assist.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

General knowledge of basic biology.

Knowledge of the content that pertains directly to the lab they will be an aid for.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

Maximum 25 hours per week.

Salt Lake Community College may complete a criminal background check on the finalist.
