Job Summary

This temporary, part time position will involve assisting with the SLCC School of Arts, Communication and Media’s After school Theater Program, which provides in-class theater workshops for middle school students in the Salt Lake City School District during the Fall 2017 semester.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

a. Assist after school program instructors with leading theater workshops and working with individual students/groups over an 8-week period (9/3/17 – 10/27/17) in two of four Middle School after-school programs in the Salt Lake School District (Hillside, Clayton, Bryant, Glendale). Position will require roughly four hours per week (two hours of preparation/in-class participation for each of two school visits).

Assist with setup/preparation for student showcase on 11/9/17 in the SLCC Grand Theater.

c. Position will require employee to arrange transportation to each scheduled, on-site workshop.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma.
Must be a current student in the SLCC Theatre program.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
