Job Summary

Maintenance and repair of buildings, fixtures, and outdoor facilities and perform new construction on campus and inside buildings as needed.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Maintain, construct, install, and repair structural and finished wood work, masonry, tile, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Maintain floors and ceiling systems, roof.
Repairing and installing doors, locks, hardware, door closing mechanism, and ADA signs.
Works with concrete in excavating, forming, laying and finishing sidewalk, curbs, slabs, etc.
Maintain accurate records and create work orders using various computer programs and various training assignments.
Order and pick up materials for various projects.
Miscellaneous repairs including repairs for various types of roofs or building or site repairs as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school and six years related paid full-time work experience. Journeyman level carpenter and valid Utah drivers license.
Additional education may be substituted with one year education (30 credits per year) equal to one year of required work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Carpentry and modern construction methods. Concrete forming, laying and finishing. Design and layout. Read blue prints. Operate large and small equipment including hand tools, power saws, drills. Familiarity with computers. ADA codes. Building codes.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
