Job Summary

Perform receptionist duties for the Nursing division at the Jordan Campus, in a positive, cheerful and enthusiastic manner. Assist in performing routine clerical functions, telephone, processing fiscal and budgetary documents and maintaining student information and program evaluations.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1) Create a welcome environment, greet visitors, and answer phone inquiries courteously and promptly, direct visitors to offices and personnel that are needed and answer inquiries about the Nursing division.
2) Perform routine office functions such as filing, scheduling, emailing, entering data, writing memorandum, take minutes at division meetings, generating and maintaining reports, operating computers, document center, printers, handling correspondence and distributing mail.
3) Maintain upkeep of the office equipment and ordering of supplies as well as periodic inventory of materials and furniture.
4) Maintain records and documentation of activities of students.
5) Assist with written and oral communication with students, staff and departments about activities, events and programs.
6) Perform clerical functions which may include operating Microsoft Word, Excel or Access to produce compile and edit quality memorandum, correspondence, reports, etc.
8) Must be able to work under stressful situations and in a fast-paced environment.
9) Ability to demonstrate cognitive reasoning.
10) Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge of:
Adobe Acrobat Pro
Adobe InDesign
Microsoft Publisher
Ability to Troubleshoot Electronic Devices

Minimum Qualifications

1) Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, and Access), windows, filing, electronic mail, etc.
2) Evidence of customer service best practices.
3) Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent.
4) One year of related, paid work experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to:
1) Demonstrate effective public speaking skills, communicate well both orally and in writing.
2) Assist in implementing goals and objectives.
3) Work well under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
4) Utilize the college computer system (Banner, presentation and word processing software).
5) Proficiency with business English, spelling, punctuation and math.
6) Advocate for students.
7) Effective customer service best practices.
8) Able to work in team environment and independently as necessary.
9) Typing speed of 35-40 wpm.
10) Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
