Job Summary

Maintain and provide a professional working atmosphere for International Student Affairs at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, while supporting and assisting the staff and student leaders. Manage and maintain AdvisorTrac software program. Will also need to coordinate with other areas and departments of the College to accomplish additional duties and projects.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Assist in operations of the International Student Affairs, including supporting professional and support staff, student leader’s support, and managing office needs. Promote International Student Affairs with students, faculty, and staff. Learn, manage and administer AdvisorTrac. Learn ISSM data management system. Assist professional staff in implementing scheduled programs and meeting deadlines. Manage and update social media outlets, such as International Student Affairs Facebook page.
Respond courteously and promptly to phone and walk-in inquiries and provide front desk customer service, perform clerical functions. Assist guests, staff. Faculty, and student with information and direction. Communicate with other offices and personnel on campus to ensure proper arrangements for scheduled activities and events.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued

Do a regular check of office and outside area to ensure that furniture is properly arranged/maintained and uneeded equipment is properly stored; and office supplies and materials are ordered and stored. Maintain professional atmosphere in office and help keep it clean. Work with facilities, custodial and student center office as needed to facilitate these needs and an appropriate work atmosphere.
Assist with office forms, files, supplies, keeping copies on hand, and updating information. Scan and index archived student files. Assist with office coverage, projects, or other needs of International Student Affairs, as well as running errands. Assist wit office forms, keeping copies on hand, updating information and explain how to complete. Close or open office as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

1-2 years in customer service or related field
Second language preferred

Minimum Qualifications

High school Diploma or GED equivalent
Basic Microsoft office knowledge
Able to work after 12-5 M-F

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

-Able to work in loud, open, heavily populated office
-Excellent customer relations and telephone skills
-Knowledge of general office procedures and methods
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to set priorities, organize tasks, and take initiates within established parameters
-Ability to operate most office and A/V equipment
-Maintain professional; and positive attitude, ability to grow, adapt and take direction while working independently when necessary
-Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

Work study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work study positions.
