Job Summary

Maintenance and repair of buildings, fixtures, and outdoor facilities and perform new construction on campus and inside buildings as needed.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Maintain, construct, install, and repair structural and finished wood work, masonry, tile, furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Floors and ceiling systems, roof.
Repairing and installing doors, locks, hardware, door closing mechanism, and ADA signs.
Works with concrete in excavating, forming, laying and finishing sidewalk, curbs, slabs, etc.
Maintain accurate records and create work orders using various computer programs and various training assignments.
Order materials for various projects.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or equivalent; One year related paid full time work experience. Valid Utah Driver License.
Successful candidate will be required to enroll in the carpenter apprenticeship program at SLCC.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of carpentry and modern construction methods; concrete forming and laying, finishing; operate large and small equipment including hand tools, power saws, drills; backhoe, skid steer. Familiarity with computers.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
