Job Summary

The Lab Aide III will assist the School of Applied Technology Testing Center staff by testing in the WVC Center in the following ways:

- Responsible for the intake of scheduled and walk-in testing examinees for ESL Testing.
- Responsible for setting up all the paperwork required for testing.
- Setting up the Test Center to receive examinees.
- Responsible to keep all standardized test content confidential and locked up at all times.
- Responsible to become trained and certified as a Utah Nursing Assistant Examiner, Pearson VUE, ISCET, ETA,RMGA, ESCO, NATE,NCCT, TABE, CASAS, CELSA, SAT Challenge Tests and WorkKeys within 90 days after hire date, and other exams as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

- Responsible for keeping updated with any changes with any of the standardized tests offered.
- Responsible to answer the phone or reply to emails in order to assist customers in a quick and courteous manner.
- Responsible for assisting customers in-person to schedule test appointments and provide information.
- Responsible to administer all standardized test accommodations for all tests offered, as well, as provide the information for the process to each potential examinees or designee.
- Responsible to maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
- Responsible to test at other campuses or off-campus locations to a group of current students or prospective students.
- Be able to individually lift and carry up to 30 lbs. in a dolly.
- Must be able to work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday evenings from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m.
- Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

- Test of Adult Basic Education or T.A.B.E. Examiner Certification.
- Utah Certified Nursing Assistant Test Examiner.
- One year of full-time work experience in a college testing center.
- Experience with adult testing processes and procedures in a test center setting.
- Current or recent experience managing an office/business.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s Degree
45 college credits with at least 2 years full-time, paid experience in an office/sales setting.

This position requires a qualified typist with a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute (based on a 5-minute timed-test with five or fewer errors or comparable test). All candidates will be required to produce recent documentation before hiring.

Note: Please be advised that the SAT Testing Center at the South City Campus proctors both exams.

Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

Special Instructions

This position is ONLY for a part-time position requiring a flexible schedule of approximately 4-8 hours per week. Due to holidays and college closures, minimum hours per week is not always possible. All testing for this position is in the evenings and possibly 1-3 Saturdays per year depending on the needs of the Department. The selected candidate must agree to a flexible schedule, working on and off campus, days, evenings and weekends. This position will be assigned PRIMARILY in the West Valley City Center.
