Job Summary

Job Summary:
Position is responsible for ensuring timely preparation and delivery of all food items at assigned kiosk. Position may realize significant “rushes” during mealtimes and will be requiring incumbent to manage high demand and high stress during such times. Create and support team relationships built on trust with other crew members. Be responsible for all customer service needs pertaining to assigned kiosk. This position may also require training and work as a cashier and therefore requires cashier training associated with Food Services. Ensure that all cleaning, food handling, and sanitation standards are met and all work that is assigned is completed by the time needed or by the end of the shift.

This position is a part-time position. The schedule will be created based on the foreseeable workload. The school has several breaks throughout the year and there is no guarantee that scheduled hours will be consistent from month to month. It may be necessary to help cover shifts / work areas in the absence of other employees.

(Note: Part-time personnel are only allowed to work up to and not exceeding 125 hours in any given calendar month.)

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Help in preparing all food production for assigned kiosk
• Follow along with training and recipe programs implemented by the Kiosk Lead, Retail Chef and management
• Stock assigned kiosk with all inventories for daily service
• Help with food cost and overall quality of the foods produced within kiosk
• Help with recording and adjusting production and labor on a daily basis
• Provide requested food items to customer in a timely and cost-efficient manner
• Communicate to management any and all issues that pertain to Food Services including the following:
o Food and budget expenses
o Documentation of loss
o Theft (report immediately to management)
o Safety issues (i.e. unsafe / unsanitary conditions)
• Compliance with all SLCC and Food Services policies and procedures
• Must check for correct, clean, and functional signage on a daily basis
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

•Customer service skills – courtesy, willingness to assist, sincerity, pleasant, etc.
•Ability to work in fast paced environment handling multiple requests / orders
•Ability to communicate orally and read English
•Understand and demonstrate the importance of safe and sanitary food handling (i.e. wearing appropriate attire including, but not limited to, hats/hair nets, gloves, changing gloves regularly, sanitation, temperature, etc.)
•Basic math and reading skills
•Good troubleshooting skills
•Ability to lift 25-50 pounds on a regular basis
•Ability to stand and work on feet for long periods of time (i.e. entire shift)
•Ability to arrive on time to assigned shift(s) in uniform ready to work
•Must be able to make order for catering and food court efficiently

Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
