Job Summary

The successful candidate will serve as a resource for students, staff, and faculty working on projects in the Publication Center.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Serve as a resource for students, staff, and faculty working on projects in the Publication Center.

Assist with using publication software (Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Prezi, other software available in the Center), project planning, book binding and hand-building, and using the publication equipment in the production room (perfect binder, cutter, coil binder, etching press).

Assist with class publication projects and workshops in the Publication Center.

Visit classes to notify students and faculty of Publication Center activities and programs.

Assist with the ongoing development of the Publication Center’s website.

Coordinate coverage of the Publication Center with the other Center personnel.

Meet with faculty and staff leaders of the Center to plan and coordinate.

Participate in training related to the Center’s mission and programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with printing and binding techniques including relief printing and etching, as well as perfect binding, coil binding, and hand binding.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge of Adobe Indesign and Photoshop, Prezi, and other software available in the Center.

Successful completion of English 1800 Publication Studies.

Working knowledge of Adobe Indesign and Photoshop, Prezi, and other software available in the Center.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
