Job Summary

Applicants will need to perform intermediate level secretarial duties that could include: compiling and typing correspondence, reports, and minutes from written or dictated material; maintaining records and files, answering phones, taking messages, scheduling meetings, and dealing with parent students. They may also provide specific departmental information upon request.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

An applicant will need to be able to manage office affairs and support the Child Care Manager. Applicant will need strong typing skills, and customer service skills. Applicant will need to be available for licensing support that may include some house cleaning responsibilities, as it is essential to strict licensing standards. Maintaining child records, immunization records, and licensing records are mandatory.

Applicant will need to support our accreditation process by reading criteria, examining evidence and documenting evidence via portfolios. The candidate must have a friendly and professional demeanor. They need to be detail oriented, and organized while also being flexible. Applicant should be comfortable with multi-tasking, and also able to respond to the needs of children, if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the Child Care Licensing and the Federal Food Program.

Spanish Speaking

Knowledge of basic computer code, and explicit knowledge of Excel.

Minimum Qualifications

Must pass BCI Federal Background Check
Must speak and read English fluently.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and computer literate.
Applicant must pass a TB test.
Applicant must pass a be able to lift children, get on children’s level,
Applicant must pass a basic physical.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
