Job Summary

Actively markets externally and internally, identifies companies meeting Custom Fit Training criteria, assesses company training needs through close interaction with clients, coordinates Custom Fit Training programs for business and industry throughout the county. Identifies specialized Custom Fit Training and when appropriate Custom Training through existing program offerings available through the educational institution and private sector. Creates training agreements and related documentation to meet Custom Fit Training and Custom Training policy requirements. Coordinates client and training provider relationships, and provides site coordination of training activities. Prepares invoice requests and coordinates vendor payments. Ensures file documentation meets audit review requirements. Works autonomously to achieve department goals. Prioritizes opportunities based on needs of the department. Advise Director on various departmental needs, activities and relationships. Influences customers at account level. Participates in external activities related to Custom Fit Training. Must be very detail oriented.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Manages client-company and training provider relationships (complete account management process, including monitoring the relationship to ensure customer satisfaction and to develop additional opportunities). Identifies and cultivates vendor relationships with training providers (educational institutions and the private sector) who meet Custom Fit Training criteria, and works with the vendors to provide training solutions to meet client-company training requirements, and ensures quality delivery of training. Provides site coordination of training activities, and monitors training with on-site review, as needed. Must be very detailed oriented.

Markets and promotes Custom Fit Training to business/industry within the service area. Makes presentations to companies and clearly articulates benefits of the College’s ability to be an expert in workforce development. Works closely with Director to reach established marketing/sales and coordination goals.

Reviews client-company training requests and assesses client-company’s training needs based on established Custom Fit Training methodologies, including SLCC procurement and other College policies. Ability to work autonomously and independently.

Creates training agreements/documentation (AR/AP invoice requests, attendance records, evaluations, etc.), and coordinates all records related to training, including electronic and physical-file document storage, based on Custom Fit Training policy and procedure requirements. Continually reviews status of contracts, revenue and cost data to ensure appropriate billings, contract closure and attainment of financial objectives. Must be very detailed oriented.

Works independently to ensure all files are prepared for State audit reviews. Compiles and analyzes company and student training data to assess attainment of training goals, and prepares all documentation for State audit reviews.

Assists Workforce and Economic Development department with workshops, seminars, trade expositions, and community awareness educational opportunities.

Prepares and submits reports as required by Department, College, and State entities.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with working within the business community regarding the promotion of the Custom Fit Training or other State-funded programs, ability to consistently follow up with clients, ability to build effective relationships with companies throughout the county.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree required.

Zero (0) to two (2) years direct, paid, full-time work experience.

Trade off 1:1 in experience/education requirement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Experience in working with SLCC workforce training programs with demonstrated ability to work with employers and the community (i.e. discussing training needs with client companies and then carrying out the outlined details). Demonstrates analytical and systematic approach to problem solving. Good appreciation of wider field of specialization. Takes responsibility for personal development. Can work independently with little direction.

Documented organizational (very detailed oriented) and communications skills.

Ability to handle various tasks within a job assignment.

Working knowledge (displaying/printing reports) of the SLCC Banner financial system.

Experience with working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases (Access or other).

Experience with creating detailed files ready for State audits of SLCC Custom Fit Training files.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
