Job Summary

Operate a cashier register through accepting payment for merchandise purchased via Credit Card, Cash, or Gift Card.
Answer customer questions.
Handle all returns on textbooks and bookstore merchandise.
Assist with daily textbook buyback.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Cashiering
Knowledge of products and merchandise offered in the Bookstore.
Straightening and arranging of Bookstore displays.
Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

18 years of age or older.
Cashiering experience.
Customer Service experience.
10 key and typing skills
Ability to deal with public effectively.
Knowledge of effective customer service techniques.
Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must have good communication skills.
Interpersonal skills.
Problem solving abilities.
Must be able to speak and understand English.
Basic math skills
Ability to count change back to customer.
Some accounting skills.
Civility and urbanity are essential attributes of the incumbent

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
