Job Summary

Stock textbooks, replace shelf tags and assist with any additional Bookstore merchandise on the sales floor; assist with arrangement and stocking of pallet zone areas of the textbooks as they are received and sold; process textbooks during “buyback” including placement of used sticker, shrink-wrapping, price checking, re-shelving; counting all bookstore merchandise for inventory; answer questions and assist customers in obtaining required materials for their classes; other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 17 years of age or older.
Must be able to lift 40 lbs. with or without minimum accommodation.
Must be able to work under pressure.
Excellent customer service skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to repeatedly lift boxes of textbooks and merchandise.
Ability to deal with the public effectively.
Knowledge of effective customer service techniques.
Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions.
Interpersonal skills.
Problem solving abilities.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
