Job Summary

Instructional delivery, management of learning environment and assessment of student learning for HLAC 1035 Zumba, reporting to the Program Coordinator and the Department Chair.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Using pre-established curricula to teach courses.

2. Create and adhere to a departmentally approved syllabus.

3.Assess student learning as prescribed by the department.

4. Follow all SLCC policies and procedures.

5. Adjunct Instructors will assign student grades for the course.

6. Coordinates Student ADA accomodation requests following college policy and procedures.

7. Answer student questions and provide necessary feedback on student progress.

8. Meets College and department deadlines and evaluates student work in a timely manner including submitting final grades on time.

9. Completes all required trainings.

10. Deomonstrate and supports professional commitment to division, school, and college mission and values.

11. Other duties as assigned by Department Chair or Program

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience teaching college-level Health and Wellness courses with an emphasis on Group Fitness.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelors Degree in Health, Physical Education or Exercise Physiology or its equivalent preferred.

2. Must have a current Zumba certification and must keep certification current during terms of employment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

1. Excellent content knowledge and teaching ability in Zumba.

2. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

3. Excellent computer and software skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.).

4. Demonstrated skills and record of success in establishing good working relationships with students, staff, & faculty.

5. Must be dependable.

As directed by SLCC Policy, Adjunct positions are semester by semester contract with no guarantee of continued employment.
