Job Summary

Instructional delivery, management of learning environment and assessment of student learning for the HLTH 1355 Yoga Teacher Training II as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1. Using pre-established curricula, teach courses.

2. Create and adhere to a departmentally approved syllabus.

3. Assess student learning as prescribed by the department.

4. Follow all SLCC policies and procedures.

5. Meets College and department deadlines and evaluates student work in a timely manner including submitting final grades on time.

6. Coordinates Student ADA accommodation requests following college policy and procedures.

7. Completes all required training.

8. Demonstrate and supports professional commitment to division, school, and college mission and values.

9. Other duties as assigned by Department Chair or Program
Coordinator.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications

1. Prior experience teaching physical anatomy and physiology as it applies to alignment, movement and general health for students who will be teaching yoga Asanas.

2. Experience teaching spiritual anatomy and physiology including but not limited to Chakras, Koshas, Bandhas, Nadis etc.

3. Certified at the Yoga Alliance 200 or 500 hour level strongly recommended.

4. Experience in Yoga required.

Minimum Qualifications

MS preferred in a related field, Bachelors or it’s equivalent in a related field required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent content knowledge and teaching ability in physical anatomy and physiology as it applies to alignment, movement and general health for students who will be teaching yoga Asanas along with excellent knowledge of spiritual anatomy and physiology.

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent computer and software skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.)

Demonstrated skills and record of success in establishing good working relationships with students, staff, & faculty

Must be dependable
