Job Summary

Instructional delivery, management of learning environment and assessment of student learning for 1 – 3 sections of HLAC 1055 Pilates I

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

-Using pre-established curricula, teach courses.
-Create and adhere to a departmentally approved syllabus.
-Assess student learning as prescribed by the department.
-Follow all SLCC policies and procedures.
-Adjunct Instructors will assign student grades for the course.
-Coordinates Student ADA accommodation requests following college policy and procedures.
-Demonstrates and supports professional commitment to division, school, and college mission and values.
-Other duties as assigned by Department Chair or Coordinator

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications

1 – 5 years experience teaching Pilates required with a Pilates Certification from a recognized certifying body.

Certified American Red Cross or American Heart Association Adult CPR

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent content knowledge and teaching ability in Pilates

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent computer and software skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, etc.)

Demonstrated skills and record of success in establishing good working relationships with students, staff, & faculty

Must be dependable and willing to adhere to departmental attendance policy

As directed by SLCC Policy, Adjunct positions are semester by semester contract with no guarantee of continued employment.
