Job Summary

The Curriculum Developer works closely with the hiring manager/program coordinator to conceptualize, plan, and develop curriculum of new courses. Responsible for designing and developing curriculum content, training materials, training modules, teaching aids, learning outcome assessments, and managing all aspects of training content and delivery.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1.Manage project timeline and prioritize to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
2.Collaborate with Instructional Designer (for online and blended courses) to develop and review proposed project efforts to determine appropriate scope, milestones, and delivery timeframe.
3.Produce instructor/facilitator materials such as weekly lesson plans, teaching aids, assignments, exams, etc.
4.Maintain current industry standards and best practices as appropriate.
5.Demonstrate and support professional commitment to program goals, as well as Division, School and College policies, Mission and Values.
6.Attend required training and departmental meetings.
7.Maintain open line of communication with program manager/coordinator.
8.Adapt curriculum to meet changing industry trends and/or standards.
9.Ensure curriculum developed engages students through classroom discussions and activities.
10.Ensure curriculum developed gives students multiple opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills they need to successfully complete the course, apply what they have learned, and demonstrate mastery of required skills.
11.Other duties as needed to support successful curriculum development.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree preferred. Professional certifications, specific documented training and additional related work experience may be substituted for education on a two for one year basis. Prior experience working with adult learners. Able to demonstrate current knowledge in the subject-matter.

Minimum Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree or professional certifications. Specific documented training and/or additional related work experience may be substituted for education. Industry licensure or credentials as applicable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
