Job Summary

Provide customer service and account support to aid in collection and daily operation activities for Student Loans & Receivables.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Perform accounts receivable collection, Perkins, promissory notes, state tax liens, payment plans, and general office/clerical functions, which may include, but is not limited to: billing, account research, student/public relations, answering phones, collection calls, writing letters, filing/scanning, assisting students by answering phones, questions and providing account information. Perform other functions to facilitate the college and Student Loans & Receivable department goals and operations. Other duties as assigned.

Customer Service Skills, Efficient with Microsoft Office and General Office Knowledge and Experience.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of post-high school education.
One year additional direct experience or training.

Self-motivated and a team player. Oral and written communication. Ability to organize and set priorities. Detail and accuracy orientated. Work well under pressure. Complete multiple tasks effectively in a busy and stressful office. Proficient typing skills. Ability to learn a variety of software programs. Ability to operate office equipment. Ability to work with and safeguard confidential information. Knowledge of College policies, procedures, and operations preferred. Basic accounting skills. Customer Service knowledge and skills. Knowledge of general office procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with a board range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Write and update procedures for accounts receivable functions; correspond with students and sponsors regarding accounts; provide back-up in the office environment.
