Hiring for an afternoon position - typical working hours for this position are Monday-Friday 12:00-4:30 p.m. during the College operating schedule. Salt Lake Community College may complete a criminal background check on the finalist. A resume is preferred with your application. Work-study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work-Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work-study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work-study positions.

Job Summary

Assist at the Human Resources reception desk answering phone, tracking paperwork and greet visitors. Assist applicants with online application and attaching documents. Be the initial contact for Human Resources.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Greet incoming visitors, students, applicants and employees. Answer basic paperwork questions.
Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate area.
Track in-coming paperwork.
Respond to general and applicant questions.
Complete special projects.
Light filing and other general office duties.
Maintain work rooms with supplies, cleanliness and organization.
May work with Onboarding Team to assist new hires.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications

Students pursuing Business degree preferred.
Work experience in an office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

High School or GED equivalent.
Current SLCC students that are eligible for Work-study awarded financial aid.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Business etiquette and excellent customer service.
Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
Knowledge and practical use of Microsoft office production (Work, Excel and Outlook).
Ability to operate standard office equipment including, computers (including several computer programs), fax, copier, multi-line phone system.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
Use the computer to respond to email, research information, and help applicants.
