Job Summary

Manage and lead both internal and external effort for delivering workforce education and training efforts to area industries and companies within specified targeted sectors. The “Dream Team” Manager will need to be familiar with institutional funding sources, State, Federal and private grant funding and their implementation. (i.e., Utah Cluster Acceleration Partnership UCAP). This position will be instrumental in working and leading efforts in all aspects of grant solicitations and management. The successful candidate will need to be able to identify where programs reside and how they are delivered within SLCC. The candidate will need to lead collaborative efforts with multiple parties that are For-Profit, Governmental and Non-Profit that result in a positive, intended outcome.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Coordination with internal SLCC departments and staff on the creation and coordination of workforce training. This will include all Academic Areas, Student Services/Admissions, Professional Development, Institutional Marketing and Business Services.

Coordination with external companies and industries within the scope of the identified clusters of the Dream Team Manager. Multiple agencies will be involved in a singular training initiative in order to meet the workforce needs.

Create and maintain related budgets and associated funding sources that support the work within the clusters. Serve as the Principle Investigator (PI) on grants when appropriate.

Work on related projects assigned by the Associate Provost for Workforce and Economic Development.

Other duties as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued
Preferred Qualifications

Significant experience in leading collaborative training efforts within an accredited institution of Higher Education.

Experience with budget creation and management for programs encompassing multiple users and partners.

Familiarity with Banner Software systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Management or related field.

Three (3) to five (5) years of direct, paid, full-time work experience in higher education or industry training coordination and/or delivery.

Education/experience may be substituted on a 2:1 basis.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of how degrees, certificates and programs are constructed that result in Stackable Credentials.

Ability to analyze, understand and disaggregate multiple data sets in order to present a position.

Knowledge of and skill in writing & soliciting grants.

Ability to develop and maintain budgets that support multiple programs.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Familiarity of governmental agencies and their roles within workforce and economic development;

Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Division of Workforce Services, Economic Development Corporation of Utah, etc…

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

Serve as project facilitator than can organize and lead large groups of professionals.
