Job Summary

Under the direction of the Student Life & Leadership Coordinator over Publicity & Advertising and in a team environment, assist with Student Life & Leadership, Student Association, and student clubs and organizations marketing and outreach needs, including graphic design for print, web, multi-media presentations and digital signage.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

The specialist will be primarily responsible for developing and providing design for print and digital marketing of SLCC Student Association. Print assignments include posters, flyers, brochures, banners/signs, etc.
Digital signage & web-related assignments may include social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), web maintenance, and SLCCSync content.
The specialist may also provide photography assistance and will review, edit, and provide multiple formats of images for print, digital signage and web.
The specialist will create materials using Adobe Creative Suite software to plan, develop, and design print and digital marketing materials.
Will help develop appropriate and effective visual communications.
In all activities, operate proactively to meet project goals, develop strong working relationships and improve departmental processes.
The specialist will effectively work with others in SLCCSA, the Publicity & Advertising Board, and clubs on writing/editing and graphic/photography support for materials print, digital signage and web.

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of one year hands-on graphics experience;
Strong background in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs is also expected, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must be highly computer literate, including an understanding of trends in publications and online marketing media such as social networks, blogging, search engines, etc.
Excellent visual design skills with a thorough knowledge of the principles of effective layout, typography, and graphic design.
Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service focus.
Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships.
Ability to organize time effectively
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
