Job Summary

The Office of Advancement Services maintains an accurate database of alumni, friends and other stakeholders of Salt Lake Community College. The office is responsible for prospect research, prospect management and the recording and receipting of gifts. This is a day-time position with flexible hours between 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. This position allows students an opportunity to develop “resume-building” data management skills.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Data entry input to update constituent records
• General clerical responsibilities, filing and scanning
• Index documents to cloud based storage
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Typing speed of 65 wpm
Database experience

Minimum Qualifications

• Good written and oral communication skills.

• 20 hours per week worked in a minimum of 2 hour blocks.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to handle a number of different projects simultaneously while maintaining a consistent attention to detail.
• Student must be self-directed, have ability to learn administrative software programs (Banner, Nolij, Sharepoint).
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Excel.
• Communication skills-written and verbal
• Maintain confidentiality of Salt Lake Community College records.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Physical Requirements and working conditions:
• Sedentary office work.
• Constantly requires sitting, repetitious finger and wrist movement, speaking clearly.

Special Instructions

Work study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work study positions.

Salt Lake Community College may complete a criminal background check on the finalist.
